Karen Donnelly is an associate at the law firm of Copilevitz & Canter, LLC. Her practice areas include tax exempt and nonprofit organizations law, charitable fundraising law, nonprofit tax law, corporate law, and constitutional law.

Ms. Donnelly is a 2010 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor for The Urban Lawyer and served on the staff of the UMKC Law Review. She authored a comment which was published in the UMKC Law Review, Fall 2010 Issue, entitled "Good Governance: Has the IRS Usurped the Business Judgment of Tax Exempt Organizations in the Name of Transparency and Accountability?". She is also a recipient of the Marvin and Patricia Rich Corporate Law Prize for her publication in the area of corporate law.

Ms. Donnelly graduated from the University of Kansas in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. She has also worked in the areas of direct marketing and nonprofit fundraising in Washington, DC.

Ms. Donnelly counsels clients on the formation, structuring, and qualification of exempt organizations. She also advises clients on charitable giving, nonprofit governance issues, and matters involving compliance with state charitable solicitation and fundraising laws and regulations.

She is admitted to the bars of Missouri, Kansas, and the U.S. District Court, District of Kansas.
