Nathan Thomas is an attorney with the firm in the Kansas City, Missouri office of Copilevitz & Canter, LLC. His principal practice areas include nonprofit organization law, charitable giving law, nonprofit tax law and charitable trusts and foundations.

Mr. Thomas is a former state regulator with in-depth experience in charitable regulatory and administrative issues. He served as a state representative to the National Association of State Charity Officials (NASCO).

As a former state regulator, he is uniquely qualified to provide insight for his clients into regulatory practices and strategies, and provide counsel with regard to regulatory compliance and enforcement actions.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree in History from Seaver College of Pepperdine University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.

He is admitted to the bars of three states (Missouri, California, and Mississippi), the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit.
